ORCaSa regional workshop in Vietnam
From 27 to 31 May, Hanoi hosted the ORCaSa workshop on soil organic matter and sustainable land management in Southeast Asia. Bringing together 20 scientists from Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and France, this workshop explored the diversity of situations and strategies in the region.
Funded by the ORCaSa project, the aim of the workshop was to strengthen regional cooperation, identify key facilities in each country (such as major laboratories and benchmark sites) and to compare knowledge, research activities and national strategies for soil carbon preservation, as well as to lay the foundations for the involvement of the ORCaSa regional node in Southeast Asia.
This regional workshop has been organised by Dr. Tran Minh Tien, from the Soils and Fertilizers Research Institute (SFRI), Pascal Jouquet, from the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Sciences of Paris (iEES Paris) and the Institute of Research for Development, France (IRD).
